Official SLX LED review by Scuba Diving Magazine
The SLX may be the smallest primary light we tested, but it can light up the reef with the best of them. It uses a trio of 3-watt LED bulbs to produce a blue/white beam that brought out vibrant colors on a night reef dive. The beam is focused into an intense hot spot, and while the 12-inch perimeter measurements fall off about 50 percent, there is a visible halo that extends to almost four feet in diameter. Its aluminum case measures just 5.25 inches long by 2.5 inches in diameter and houses six AA batteries. Two O-rings seal the housing, and the on/off switch has a good lock to prevent accidental activation. A lantern handle provides a solid grip and can be replaced with a mounting bracket if you want to use the SLX as a camera focus light.
Review of the SLX 800t
Hi, I bought the SLX 800t because of the quality and the price. Its compact solid construction is what attracted me in the first place. I wanted to steer away from a cord to a belted battery canister and having this self-contained light is extremely convenient.
Solid equipment. Everyone I show it to and dive with wants a light like mine.

TLX 800t Canister Light Review
I got my TLX 800t and the lights work as well as they describe. The lights seem to be as bright if not brighter than my buddy’s 18w hid. It not only feels but IS very solid and I love the fact that you can use AA or D cell batteries and never have to worry about battery maintenance. All of my other canister batteries have had TONS of issues and now I’m just glad that I won’t have to deal with them anymore.

SLX 300t upgraded to a SLX 800t
The product performed to spec. The service was excellent. Tim was knowledgeable and honest The upgrade was easy to apply...just like the instructions.. The lights are far superior compared to anything else I’ve used. As a dive/video/focus light, very cool literally and figuratively. I am glad I did research and came across the review on Scubabord.com by "Shadragon" This review sold me. http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/lights/211540-nocturnal-lights-slx-led-technical-dive-light-package-review.html

Nocturnal Lights Service, SLX 800i, and SLX 800t Review
I was searching around the Internet looking for an underwater light that might be able to function as a dive light, video light, and hopefully a still picture light. Your products looked like the best match to my criteria. I ended up getting the SLX underwater focus light with universal tray and handle plus the neoprene hand mount so when I’m not using it for photo/videos I can use it as a tech light. What a deal!
Your service was great, and Tim was a big help. I had purchased the SLX light at the end of January in preparation for my trip to the Bahamas in March (my present to myself - 40th birthday). At the beginning of March I received an email related to upgrading my lights to an 800, then a couple of days later (it was a Thursday, I remember the details vividly) another email announcing the 800i. I didn't think I wanted to spent another $500 dollars (exchange rate to Canadian dollars, my first purchase cost me over $600) in addition to all my new diving gear, etc. Over the weekend I decided I would try, if you could get it to me in time - I was leaving the following weekend, giving you less than 1 week to get it to me. I spoke to Tim and he was certain it was possible. I purchased a second light, and I am very glad I did. The night dives were fantastic with the lights. I got a number of great photos and video because of the 800i. Of the 24 or so people diving the Aqua Cat that week, my lights were definitely the brightest in the water, and the sites were fantastic. Great products and I will certainly be telling others how great they are. Rodney p.s. sorry for giving you my life story, just wanted to set up the scenario to show how great Tim was :-).
The lights are fabulous and I would recommend this to all of my dive buddies.

Impressed by friends' Nocturnal Lights LED
I've looked at LED lights from other manufacturers but none of them stack up against yours for burn-time, brightness and reliability. One of my friends in our dive club uses a Nocturnal Lights LED torch and he rates it very highly. Whenever I dive with him I'm always impressed.

Can't believe the quality and brightness - SLX dive light review eview by Gary
I have been diving for 20 years and have used many different lights. I can not believe the quality and brightness of this light for its size. I have highly recommended this light to many, several of which have bought it. Thanks for creating great high quality products.

SLX Review
We've had the SLX lights for over a year and absolutely LOVE them!! Not only are they fabulous for daytime diving, but we found them to be perfect at night and to use as focus lights for night time photography as well. One thing we noticed on our live aboard trip this summer was how white these lights are at night particularly when compared with other divers' lights, which ranged from blue to yellow.
Although the Nocturnal Lights aren't cheap, you get FAR more than you pay for IMO. Oh yeah, and the customer service Tim has always provided has always been spot on.

Impressed by the light, color, and battery setup - SLX Review
The guys at the club were very impressed by the strength of the light, the colour, the burn time on 6 batteries, and of course the price. As it is so small it fits in a pocket of my DCB for handy storage before and after a dive. It was very murky and green in De Nekker (my local lake) but the light really helped.
SLX 800i
During the past 3 years, my Nocturnal Dive lights have endured rigorous dive conditions around the world. From balmy 85-degree waters in Indonesia to frigid temps of 29 in the Antarctic and at depths regularly below 100fsw, my Nocturnal (yes, I own two) have performed flawlessly in a wide range of adverse conditions. Nocturnal lights are well constructed and very reliable. The lights only require standard AA batteries, which I find a great advantage, especially when traveling afar, so no special charging unit is needed. Best of all, Nocturnal provide great, long-lasting illumination for photography or simply for use as a dive light.
Thank you Nocturnal!

SLX 800i and SLX 800t FULL REVIEW
The SLX 800T Technical Light was measured to have an in-water light penetration distance of 56 feet, which surpassed all the other lights. This means that up to 56' we were able to distinguish that there was a diver lurking in the dark. However, the light traveled to roughly 60-70' but at that distance we were unable to locate the diver in the dark. We found the light to be easy to turn on and off using either bare hands or gloves with grip (3mm Neosport and Akona Adventure Gloves were tested). Note: The light is negatively buoyant, so if dropped it will sink which is normal for most dive lights. The light was easy to handle and produced tons of light. I'd feel comfortable using this as a primary light for all open water dives including wreck penetrations or cave dives.

Several night dives with one set of batteries - SLX review by Heather
My husband and I just returned from a 2 week liveaboard trip where we used our SLX LED lights daily and on several night dives. Not only did we only use 1 set of batteries the entire trip, but the lights are simply the BEST for night diving. We were fascinated by the different colors of lights on our night dives, ranging from green to yellow to blue to bright white. Ours were bright white and the beam output was perfect for night diving. The lights gave us a bright focus area that cut through the darkness like a hot knife through butter, and a broad diffused area that we could use for photography.

Great product and service - SLX Tech Package review by Edward
My friend purchased the SLX LED Tech package and after seeing the light, its performance, and the way you shipped him a new light, without question, after he found a miss place seal; I had to have one. Your light is fantastic, well made, easy to use, and provides outstanding visibility. I really enjoy your wrist mount and its ease of use. Your shipping is fast and the customer service is top notch. Thank you for producing an outstanding light at an affordable price.

Best Bang for your Buck - SLX 300t Dive Lights
I've had for a couple of seasons now the 300 lumen version. That thing has been solid and tough as nails. It easily kept up with my buddies 10w DR HID canister light and produced a whiter more even light.
The amount of money that I had spent on cheaper primary lights easily would have easily paid for the Nocturnal light.
What I found was that when I got a good light, I actually enjoyed night diving and did a lot more of it. It really helps when you can see and the colors look good.
Just food for thought.

Powerful light through the entire shoot - Dual SL50 Video Light by Michael
We found six artifacts in 20 feet of water dating between 4000-7000 years ago. Just wait until you see the video! I want to report that Nocturnal Lights really helped us. I noticed that when I was looking for artifacts, even in two feet of visibility, the Nocturnal Light system illuminated the entire area, bringing out the color without burning up the picture. One of the most noticeable qualities was the battery life. Often companies represent that their battery system has a specific life span, but the reality is usually about 70% of that. Nocturnal Lights just kept pumping out the soft, but powerful light through the entire shoot.

Totally Different Experience - SL50 Review by Gerald
Diving with the SL50 was a totally different experience. I dive down here in Laguna and a brighter light did make a lot of difference in my dive. Not only did I get a lot fo compliments from my buddies I also had a lot of new fish coming up to me to look at my new light, lol.

Lots of people are impressed - SL50 Video Lights by Ian
I have used Ikelite and a few others but I have to say that the SL50's are the best I have every used. Rugged construction, lightweight in the water with the optional sleeve. Every time someone sees the lights I dive with they cannot help but look and then when they see what it can do they are VERY impressed

A different league - SLX and SL50 review by Trygve
I've owned several IKELITE products for 4 and 8 c-cell batteries. They can not be compared to the TL or SLX. They are really not in the same league.

Rugged! - SL50 Review by Bruce
Thank you for the wonderful light. When I went on my dive this past weekend in Florida everyone asked me about my new SL50 because once we got underwater my light totally covered everyone else’s small plastic torches. It was great! I will contact you again in a couple of months because I want to get a matching SL50 for my girlfriend.

Convinced by Dive Buddy - TL50 Review by Bob
I just want to say that your light totally rocks.. My buddy finally convinced me to get the tl50 after my 3rd hid bulb broke on me. The TL50 is definitely much more rigged than my old lights that I had before and the amount of light this outputs is just amazing… we usually dive in really poor visibility and your light definitely makes my diving much more enjoyable!
I love it - TL50 dive light review by Tim
Just did my first dive with my new Nocturnal Dive light and it was awesome. I could see stuff that I have never seen before in the water. Not once did I feel like the light got in my way and it wasn't tiring to hold for a long period of time because of the design.......You guys rock that's for everything!
Cheers! - TL50 Review by Adam
Finally got to take my light for a try out today. We have a few WW1 J-class submarines down here. Had a bit of a swim thru with the 50 watt globe in. Very very happy. Nice and bright and easy to manage. Certainly got a few admiring looks from some of the others on the dive. Cheers on a top product and thanks for your help and quick replies.

You won't regret it - TL50 Review by Ted
Just got a chance to do the Spiegel Grove and a night dive with my new TL50. Great! Made my buddy's 10W HID look like a flashlight! With the 35W head, its about equal with plenty of burn time. You won't regret getting a nocturnal lights system, regardless of what the lurkers say!

Stunned by the Quality - TL50 Dive Light Review by Alex W. - London, UK
I have just received my TL50 and i am already writing a review before i have even tried it out. I am stunned about the build quality of the unit itself. And the amount of accessories you get with it for example a landyard and 3 spare bulbs saves you a packet from the start!! The dual O-ring design is a comfort for me to know and the all metal construction ensures me that the few scrapes and scratches i will have the torch will survive. Thanks for an excellant product!!!!! I will get back to you when i have tried it out. But i can assure you i wont be disappointed. I advise anyone to get this torch or even do business with this company i can assure you they seem to be the best!!!!!
Aluminum Goodman Handle Review by Wayne
Also id like to make comment on the alloy hand mount for the SLX, I purchased this accessory separately from the SLX and have found it to be far superior than the soft mount provided with the original purchase “soft mount is still very good”, the alloy mount is very easy to fit and use while still allowing free movement of your hand especially when using a camera. I would highly recommend this mount to anyone who uses the SLX allowing great versatility of the light for a relatively cheap purchase price.
